Pastor Ja’Ola Walker                 April 2024

We need to remember how costly the price paid for our salvation was so we can understand how serious the Lord is about His love for you and me. The question that should echo in our hearts is why?

That question echoed through David in Psalms 8:4: What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? :5  For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor. :6  Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

The Lord knew and planned everything before He created anything. When He said, “Let us make man in our image”, He knew that to accomplish His goal, man had to have free will. He knew that when He made the angels and put Lucifer in charge of worship, he would turn on Him. (Isa 14:12)

God knew what Lou was going to do.  Before the worlds were made, Jesus decided He would be the one to put on a body and come down. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit planned and set up a temporary system to hold off their anger with sin until Jesus was scheduled to come on the scene.

Heb 10:4 explains the temporary fix “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. :5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: :6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. :7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me) to do thy will, O God.

All of this was planned way in advance because of something that God wanted.  If we foolishly think that God reacts to things like a man, we will be deceived. God is not a man, He is omniscient, – He knows everything, and He has the power to do what He wants about what He knows. This is one of the perks to being omnipotent (all powerful). He doesn’t have to answer to anyone. He is the Judge, and there is no higher court to appeal to. As the judge, He set all the rules.

He was the one that determined – “without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin”. He determined – “the wages of sin is death”.  He set up all the rules for the spirit realm —that includes the kingdom of light and darkness. He has a leash on the devil.  He set the boundaries for him – He allows him to exist until He is finished with him.

God is not sitting in heaven with a headache trying to figure out what He will do about the world. “Oh my, Adam sinned what will we do,” No, if we don’t understand that you will mistakenly think He messed up and then He had to try to fix His mess up as He goes along,

I heard a well-known pastor say that God was the biggest failure in the universe because he lost Satan, Adam, Eve and the earth. This is an example of the doctrine of devils.

Now adays we must take message by message and judge every message, every prophecy by the Holy Spirit and by the Word of God.

Remember Paul dealing with the girl with the spirit of divination. She was confirming their ministry, saying all the right things.  The demon was trying to piggyback off the disciples as he affirmed them.  If they let it slide it was his way to affirm himself and her demonic operations in that city, (very slick).

Folk can be saying the right thing, but it is coming from the wrong spirit.  The enemy will tell you some partial truth so he can push a bigger lie later.

1 John 4:1-5 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist…

You better be on guard, discerning, praying, checking everything with the Word and the Holy Spirit. Don’t get star struck by people’s gifts. That is why we must be intentional about learning the Word of God and having an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit.

  • God gave the earth to man and woman to rule over it. Gen 1:28
  • God knew Adam and Eve would make a mess – He had his reasons for this decision.
  • The salvation of man would be a two-part plan. The whole priesthood, temple, blood sacrifices, prophets, that whole system was a preparation, a picture for what Jesus would do.

Jesus knew all the prophecies and fulfilled them,

Heb 1:1 Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. And an inheritance, and through the Son He created the universe. The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. This shows that the Son is far greater than the angels, just as the name God gave him is greater than their names. (NLT)

For God’s plan to work He had to keep some secrets from man, the angels, and the devils. God leaked just a little bit of the first secret to Adam, Eve and the serpent.

Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

How do you kill a snake in the natural – you snap its head. That one statement let the serpent know just enough to put him on alert. He started paying attention, looking for the one God promised would snap his head. He saw how obedient Abel was, he probably suggested to Cain to kill him.

In Bible history whenever Satan felt there was a messiah, or a savior coming he would put it in the minds of folk to kill all the boy babies. He saw that sign in the heavens when Jesus was born, he knew the prophecies.  He didn’t know that getting rid of this mystery enemy was God’s method to destroy him and his kingdom.  That was just one of God secret plans –

I Cor 2:5 says that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. :6  Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 7  But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: :8  Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

God is still keeping secretsMatt 24:35  Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. :36  But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

But why, why all the undercover, the mystery, the secret plans of the Godhead? There is even a secret that the Bible calls the ‘Great Mystery”. This one gives us a clue to the why God went through all this trouble. Oddly enough in Eph 5 -the Lord is talking about marriage, and He is telling husbands how they are supposed to love their wives. He uses Jesus as the example.

Eph 5:30  For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31  For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32  This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

The church is called the Bride of Christ and Jesus is the bridegroom. After God made creation the only thing God said was not good was man being alone.

Gen 2:18  And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him.   God is the one who compares Adam to Jesus:

I Cor 15:45 And so it is written, the first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

That is why marriage is so important to God. He uses it as an analogy of the relationship between Christ and the Body of Christ. So, when marriage is done right it is a message to the world. That is why Satan attacks marriage so much. The last Adam went through all of this trouble to put on a body and come down here in this filth to rescue mankind; He gives himself for the bride, and his ultimate love is expressed in his total sacrifice of himself. He nourishes and cherishes her and then goes to prepare a place for her. He even plans the wedding; he plans to come back and get her and take her to live and rule with Him for eternity.

One of the main things we need to be doing right now, individually and as part of the Body of Christ, is getting ourselves ready for our Bridegroom,

Rev 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb comes, and his wife hath made herself ready. :8  And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. :9  And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.

This bride-to-be keeps her affections and love for Him – not sleeping around, not worshipping other gods.  She is beautifying herself – inward and outward.

Why did the Lord go through all of what He went through – He wanted a bride! Just like Adam was excited when he saw Eve He said bone of my bone flesh of my flesh – wow. She shall be called a woman. Man with a womb, she is part of me. The Lord wanted a Bride.

I believe that just like God took a side out of Adam to make Eve, when they opened up Jesus’ side with that spear, a spiritual bride was coming forth.  1 Cor 12: 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. NIV

If you are part of the Bride of Christ you should be investing your time, money and energy in getting ready for your new reality – heaven.  Our focus should be on pleasing Him. Remember you are in this world but not of it. We must be a Bride without spot or wrinkle, repentance is how we get spiritually clean.

The scary thing is some folk will not make the cut –you remember the parable about the 5 wise and 5 foolish virgins. They were all waiting for the bridegroom. There will be as many who are rejected as there are who are ready. The bride-to-be is occupied until He comes – her main focus is serving and pleasing Him. She is learning what He likes and getting ready for her new home.  She is shaking off the shackles of the world, learning how to obey Him and move to His step as they prepare for their wedding dance. There will be a wedding feast, she is made up of many souls so they also must learn to flow together by loving each other.

Her marriage preparation manual is His Word; it contains the instructions He left so she will know exactly what He wants. Her characteristics are the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, temperance, gentleness, meekness…

You will know her for her heart and mind will start to wander as she anticipates the day of their union.  All of the fighting between the Kingdom of Darkness and the Kingdom of Light has been a proving ground for her to come out as pure gold.

She does not engage in activities that hurt her because they defeat her purpose. All of her parts are learning to flow together and love each other.  Folk really flowing in Jesus are learning to love others more because we are one.  He will separate the wheat from the tares not us.

A real good love story will have a bad guy. The couple has to overcome obstacles to make their love sweeter. So, our bad guy is Satan. He hates us and the world. He works 24 /7 to destroy us.

Jesus handled everything at Calvary, in hell, and by taking the blood back to heaven. Satan and all his demons were beat. What is the Lord waiting for?  He wants as many souls saved as possible before He destroys the old world and makes a new one.

2Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last day’s scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation…..

:8  But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. :9  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. :10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

So, Bride, what should you be doing right now?  Jude 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. :22 And some have compassion, making a difference:23. And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Isa_62:5 For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

God is excited about His Bride, all of creation is groaning waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. Make sure you are ready to go in the twinkling of an eye.
